On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of Pope Luciani’s election and sudden death, the community of Canale d’Agordo decided to commemorate this important event by erecting a Way of the Cross along one of the village’s most evocative paths: Via Cavallera, starting from Piazza Papa Luciani. The Way of the Cross includes 15 stations with bronze reliefs by artist Franco Murer, depicting the various moments of Christ’s Passion.
An emotional and spiritual route, visited by many pilgrims and tourists both in summer and in winter.
